  • · Matters concerning the selection of a foundation under Article 71 of the Act
  • · Other matters deemed necessary by the Chairperson of the Memorial Committee in connection with memorial programs and related activities

Operations of the Memorial Committee

  • · Composition: Nine members, including the chairperson (Prime Minister)

  • - Three appointed members: Chairperson (Prime Minister), Minister of the Interior and Safety, Mayor of Seoul

    - Six commissioned members: Persons with extensive knowledge and experience recommended by organizations of bereaved families

  • · Meeting Procedures: In-person meetings in principle, but may be conducted in writing when necessary
  • · Decision-Making: Decisions require the attendance of a majority of all members and the approval of a majority of those present.
